Archival Methods 20x24" 4-Ply Natural White 100% Cotton Museum Board, 15 Pack

$209.10
Find the perfect solution for preserving your precious artwork, documents, and photographs with the Archival Methods Museum Board. Crafted from 100% pure cotton fiber, this Natural White Museum Board boasts a subtle cream tone that enhances the aesthetic appeal of your matted work. The Museum Board is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring your artwork remains safe from the harmful effects of acid migration. It incorporates both internal and external alkaline sizing, without the use of alum, for added protection against a polluted environment that could potentially lower the pH of the mat board over time. This Museum Board is buffered with calcium carbonate, maintaining a 2-3% alkaline reserve and a pH level of 9 +/-0.5. This buffering process safeguards your artwork from becoming more acidic and degrading over time. The manufacturing process of this Museum Board is meticulous, ensuring no optical brightening agents are used. The pulp is 100% cotton fiber, with 99% Alpha Cellulose, and is free from post-consumer waste recycled pulp, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. The sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, while the iron content does not exceed 150ppm and copper does not exceed 6ppm. The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring the board will not degrade or cause harm to your mounted matted artwork. The board passes the stringent Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16). The lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85 and has a Kappa number of less than five, further testifying to its superior quality. The single ply sheets of this 4-Ply board are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, making it an ideal choice for matting, mounting, and preservation of fine prints, traditional and digital photographs. For window mats and mat backing, this board provides a 1/16" separation between your artwork and its glazing, offering a flat, supportive backing for both display and storage. Choose the Archival Methods Museum Board for a reliable and high-quality solution to protect and showcase your valuable pieces.
