The board's pH level is carefully maintained to prevent it from becoming more acidic over time, thereby preserving the integrity of your matted work.The Archival Methods Museum Board is free from optical brightening agents, ensuring the authenticity of its warm white color. The pulp is composed of 99% Alpha Cellulose and is devoid of post-consumer waste recycled pulp, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. The sulfur content is kept below 0.0008% reducible sulfur, while the iron content does not exceed 150ppm and copper is limited to 6ppm.The board's alkaline sizing is used for both internal and external applications, and no alum is used in the manufacturing process. The board is buffered with calcium carbonate, maintaining a 2-3% alkaline reserve and a pH level of 9 +/-0.5, making it acid-free.The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring the board's color remains consistent and vibrant over time. The board is designed to not degrade or cause harm to your mounted matted artwork, passing the Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16). The lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85 and has a Kappa number of less than five.The single ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, making this 4-Ply board an ideal choice for matting, mounting, and preserving fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs.
