Product description
When exploring the underwater world, the Underwater Housing for Olympus Tough TG-5/TG-6 Camera is your reliable companion. This robust and feature-rich housing enhances the functionality of your Olympus Tough camera, allowing you to capture stunning underwater images down to depths of 200 feet (60m). Designed with a side-mounted shutter lever and a new zoom control, this housing ensures effortless shooting. It features hard anodized aluminum and acetyl controls that operate smoothly and are fully serviceable, promising years of enjoyment. The housing offers controls for all camera functions, except the Log Switch, and has a slightly positive buoyancy in fresh water. It comes with a 1/4-20 thread tray mounting with 3-inch (76mm) spacing. Crafted from a new ABS-PC blend, this housing provides strength and corrosion-free performance year after year. Its specially formulated color deflects sunlight, keeping your camera cooler for longer. The durable construction ensures the system remains watertight, both shallow and at depths up to 200ft (60m), surpassing the reach of Olympus branded housing. All Ikelite products, including this housing, are designed, built, and tested in the USA, using locally sourced, top-grade materials. Our housings are hand-built and individually tested for fit, function, and waterproof integrity. With over 50 years of experience and service within the dive industry, we stand behind our products. Please note that older TG-series cameras are not compatible with this housing due to differences in lens and control placement. For optimal underwater photography, we recommend adding a filter, strobe, or constant-on light, as the camera's built-in flash is not suitable for underwater illumination. However, the built-in flash can be used to trigger external strobes via a fiber optic sync cord. The housing provides two ports for the connection of up to two fiber optic cords. Our 3-inch diameter ports feature a 67mm thread on the front for easy attachment of external wide angle and macro wet lenses. These lenses allow you to capture a wider range of view or focus on tiny creatures with greater detail. Please note that some wide-angle lenses may cause vignetting and edge distortion due to the separation from the camera's lens by glass, air, and water. These effects can be minimized by using a smaller aperture, zooming in slightly, or cropping in post-production. External macro lenses with 67mm threads can be attached directly to the front of the housing's port. Most wide-angle lenses require a 3.6-inch diameter color filter. Experience the underwater world like never before with the Underwater Housing for Olympus Tough TG-5/TG-6 Camera.
