From the vineyards of the Chateau du Puligny, Le Clos du Chateau is a single-vineyard and solely owned by the de Montille family and is classified as a Bourgogne Blanc. The Clos du Chateau is a nervier step up from the Bourgogne Blanc and clearly portrays the qualities of its home of Puligny. Truly one of the great values of this prime village.This wine is certified organic, practicing biodynamic. As there are no neighbors and the vineyard is completely enclosed, it is the ideal site for farming biodynamically since outside chemicals and sprays will not inflitrate the vineyard. Aged one year in demi-muids, then blended and aged another 5 months in stainless steel.Aromas of crisp green apples, honeycomb and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is crisp, focused and a long lingering finish that will have you reaching for that next sip. Pair this wine with roast chicken, seared scallops with brown butter, dover sole in a cream sauce. Try it also with firm cheeses like cheddar or Comte.
