Buffered with calcium carbonate, it provides a 2-3% alkaline reserve and maintains a pH level of 9 +/-0.5. This ensures protection from the harmful effects of acid migration from matted work and from environmental pollutants that could cause the pH of the mat board to decrease over time. Notably, no optical brightening agents are used in the pulp, preserving the integrity of your artwork. The sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, and the iron content does not exceed 150ppm, with copper not exceeding 6ppm. The single ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, further enhancing the board's durability.
