Features and technical details
A premium picture from every seat Until last year, the very best LED TVs used an advanced type of backlight called full-array with local dimming (FALD). Then Samsung's Neo QLEDs came along and knocked our socks off with the super-precise light control provided by their dense array of Mini LEDs. This breakthrough technology is now in its second generation in 2022 models like the QN85QN90B, delivering an even brighter image with better contrast than before. Paired with the rich quantum dot color Samsung is known for, these TVs can display an incredibly punchy picture - even in the sunniest of rooms. This massive 85" set also includes Samsung's Ultra Viewing Angle film layer and anti-reflection technology, so you have a great view no matter where you sit. Samsung's QN90B delivers rich color and detail in all kinds of rooms. It's all in the details Mini LEDs offer way better contrast than traditional LED backlights. And Samsung's 2022 Neo QLEDs further improve on that with their new Shape Adaptive Light technology. This feature uses the TV's advanced Neo Quantum Processor to analyze lines and surfaces, and it shapes the light accordingly. This creates a more accurate picture with less "blooming" around bright objects on dark backgrounds. The QN85QN90B also uses Samsung's new Real Depth Enhancer. This algorithm identifies a scene's main subject and processes it to stand out from the background for a realistic sense of depth. Engaging sound Just in case your room or budget doesn't allow for a separate audio system just yet, it's nice to see Samsung put some focus on this TV's audio quality. The QN90B has a 4.2.2-channel speaker system built into its frame. It's paired with their innovative AI-based Object Tracking Sound for directional sound effects that follow the action on the screen. And if you connect it to certain Samsung sound bars , you can engage the Q-Symphony feature. This synchronizes the TV's speakers with the sound bar to create an even fuller soundstage.
